What Choir Experience Offers:

As we begin this new church year by ‘reflecting and renewing’, we are making choices regarding stewardship of time and talent.

In making your decisions, consider this:
Choir and music builds community and self-discipline:

• Choir provides a team experience where each person learns that their unique voice, given by God, is of real benefit to the sound of the whole group.

• The result of our work together is a gift to God and an
important contribution to worship leadership.

• Over a period of several weeks, we learn a text that proclaims our beliefs, set to beautiful music. This process binds people together in a personal relationship, a breath of fresh air in a world of instant gratification.

Choir and music sings and builds our faith:

• Scripture set to music stays in our memories for life.

• Hymns and their stories comfort and support us through all of life’s experiences, in trying times as well as joyful times.

• We learn about important teachings of the church
as we sing through the cycle of the liturgical year.

Music improves quality of life:

• Research has shown that exposure to music results in
higher standardized test scores, e.g., a better understanding of math, a larger vocabulary.

• Music helps young children with social, motor and
memory development.

• Most important, music, as a fine art, contributes to one’s quality of life forever!

Consider joining the church choir experience this year to help build community and self-discipline, build your faith and improve the quality of your life!
