Meet the Newest Members of RCPC - Spring 2022


Jennifer and Rob Dean live in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke County with their two girls, Lizzie (6 years) and Elena (6 years. Rob is a defense attorney and Jennifer is a community volunteer. Jennifer is active with women’s tennis. Lizzie and Elena enjoy school and their favorite subjects are math and art. The girls keep their parents busy playing basketball, swimming, karate, soccer, and creating stories together. Their Golden Retrievers, Bailey, and Bumble, enjoy running around playing with the girls. The beaches of Hilton Head and Disney World are favorite places for their family.


Susan and Leonard Lindstrom are both from Virginia and attending UVA where they met. Susan had a career in nursing while raising their three grown children, Robert, Anne Moore (member at RCPC), and Rebecca Steele in Covington, Virginia. Leonard travels in chemical sales and product development and retired right before Covid. Leonard likes spending time in the outdoors fishing and hunting. Susan enjoys painting and drawing. Spending more time with family has brought them to Roanoke and they feel blessed to be here.


Cindy and Jake Neathawk have been married for 48 years and met at UVA. In 1978 they moved here for Jake to join the medical staff at Lewis Gale as a cardiologist for 32 years. Cindy is a registered nurse, working priory to the birth of their four children and returning to work in 2001. Over the years they have been quite active in the community through Boy’s home, Good Samaritan Hospice, and an endowment board member for several non-profit organizations. Jake served as the team physician for the Salem High School football team and even received a couple of championship rings out of the deal!! In retirement they continue to volunteer with Bradley Free and Habitat. They still find time to enjoy walk the greenway, reading in their spare time and traveling.


Megan and Todd Phillips have 2 preschoolers, Wyatt (5 years) and Hannah (3 Years.) Megan is a mental health therapist and in her free time enjoys horseback riding. Todd works for the federal government and plays golf in his free time. Wyatt loves bugs and trucks!!! Playing school and reading books keeps Hannah busy during the day. As a family they enjoy taking walks together, cooking out and gardening.



Kaitlin and Zachary Swanner moved to Roanoke for Zack to take a position with Carilion as a hospital dentist. Kaitlin works remotely as a policy analyst for United Network for Organ Sharing, which develops national policy for organ donation and transplantation. She previously served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. In September 2021 Kaitlin and Zack were thrilled to welcome their daughter, Isabella into the world. Hiking, traveling, and trying out new restaurants keep them busy
