Day 19 - Wednesday, March 10

Colossians 1:16-17

For in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

We have the dust and dirt of politicians who forget that they are nothing. Kings and kingdoms, presidents and congress can accomplish nothing until they bow to the Almighty God, Who put them in a leadership role in the first place. Our country was so proud, so boastful about our riches, our fine education, our fancy jobs and cars, until, WHAM! we were hit by COVID. All of a sudden people became concerned about their neighbors, coworkers, strangers on the other side of town. Nightly on the news you’d see long lines of volunteers helping load trucks of supplies for those who were forced into quarantine. The volunteers didn’t stand on a political soap box, “Vote for my party”, or on a religious soap box, “These supplies are only for those who follow ‘this’ faith.” No, Jesus didn’t care what their political inclinations were, or what church they attended, or what color skin they had. Jesus brought them together, dusted them off, and filled their hearts with love, so they could joyfully serve His mission. These volunteers became a beautiful, wonderful, mysterious, and shining example of what happens when people let go of their personal inhibitions and let God be God to rule our hearts in love. We need leaders in our country who will put God first, rather than their own importance, and evade corruption. When we do that, Jesus will lift up the USA, dust us off, and let us be a shining example to the world again.

For it says in Colossians 1:16-17…For in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
