Sunday Morning Worship

Chapel Service

Each Sunday between Labor Day and Memorial Day, we offer a worship service to members and guests at 9:00 AM in the Roberson Chapel (located directly to your left and up the stairs when you enter the main doors). This service is intimate (approximately 50 people per week) and held in the original worship space of RCPC. The liturgy is similar to the later service, but sometimes hymns are condensed and there are ordinarily no special music ensembles in this service. The sermon is identical to the later service, and the Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. There is a nursery for children three and younger.

Sanctuary Service

At 11:00 AM between Labor Day and Memorial Day and at 10:00 AM in the summer months, we gather for worship in our sanctuary (located all the way across the Gathering Area from the main entrance). This service follows a fairly standard Order of Worship with ancient prayers, hymns old and new, choral and instrumental music, scripture, sermon, and sacraments. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. We seek to hold to the traditions of the Church through the ages while finding the contemporary Word of God for us today. The nursery is available during this service for children three and younger, and those from 4 to First Grade participate in our Children’s Worship ministry.

Children's Worship

At the 11:00 AM worship service, we feature a program called Children’s Worship.  Based on a Montessori method of education, this curriculum takes children through forty-six Bible stories throughout the year using storytelling, imagination, and creative expression. Volunteers serve as Greeters and Storytellers in the ministry on a rotational basis, each serving about four times per year. Together, leaders and children pray, practice liturgy, and sing together weekly.
