October was filled with so many fun activities, and they just don’t seem to stop: Fall Festival, The Pumpkin Patch, Trick or Treating through the building and Halloween parties all happened last month. In November is our Thanksgiving Feast is an opportunity for all of our families to gather and share a meal before leaving for break. It is certainly a group effort as everyone brings a dish to share in this joyous (and delicious) event!
This past month the preschool said goodbye to a longtime teacher and friend, Brenda Perdue. Brenda, who was a Parent’s Morning Out teacher from 2002-2019, passed away last month after suffering complications from a stroke she suffered this summer. Brenda was a fixture in our nursery, where you could always find her with a baby on her lap and a smile on her face. She was quick witted and loved owls! She started working at RCPC when her twin grandchildren began attending preschool here. She would often joke that she was the clingy grandmother who just couldn’t walk away from her grandchildren (especially if they were crying!) Well, she didn’t have to walk away very often since RCPC Preschool offered her a job soon after they started, and after she had just retired with 5 years’ service at Elizabeth Arden. While we are heartbroken that she is no longer with us, we are very THANKFUL that we had her in our lives for so long. She impacted everyone she met, and she will not be forgotten! Her family generously has started a scholarship fund at RCPC Preschool in her name. Her love and joy for children will continue to impact students’ lives even without her being physically present. We love you, Miss Brenda!
